Aïda Swanson, the specter of clandestine networks that move material and people, is the most reputable smuggler of that hydra of criminal organizations that is Submondo. This woman would be on the list of most wanted criminals if the intelligence services themselves did not make good use of her skills. Aïda forged her career from the mining suburbs of Bradbury City, collaborating with the Hexahedron against the Yu Jing government on the planet in support of the Martian separatist group of the Rebels of Cydonia.
She worked very closely with the Comuna, the mafia organization of Acontecimento before moving to Paradiso, where she would become a legend: the unattainable ghost, always able to avoid the authorities. No job was too difficult or too dangerous for her. The risks did not matter, only the money, and Aïda accepted any order that covered her rate without further questions. It was an attitude and reputation that would bring about her end, but with an added surprise. Her last client turned out to have her same face. It was a Speculo Agent, an alien impersonator, who took her life and identity, because this smuggler was the perfect cover to introduce Shasvastii agents into the Human Sphere. And so Aïda Swanson's career has continued since then, equally successful and with a reputation in criminal and intelligence circles that keeps growing, without anyone suspecting that she is no longer the same individual.
The Speculo Agent that has impersonated her has submerged so much and seems to be so comfortable in her role that she hardly remembers her real name, despite the sporadic missions she must execute for the Shasvastii command. But, no matter how badly she feels about it, right now she is the best infiltration vector for Combined Army covert operations in the Human Sphere, and the Evolved Intelligence will not let her forget her obligations. Meanwhile, Aïda Swanson will continue doing what she does best, extract and infiltrate material and people from Paradiso as clandestine and invisible to the authorities as the specter they say she is. But for a price, just as she always did… or as her original did; sometimes it is hard to recognize the difference anymore.[3]
