Background

Vaarso Battlespeak Notation: The Rasail were granted the number 6300, which is another variation on the holy number 3. The repeated nature of the different ways in which 6300 can be divided into multiplies of 3 stands as a reflection of powerful threads of energies, making up a majestic and formidable whole. The Rasail stands for courage, but without the anchoring power of the tens of thousands is also a synonym of recklessness and battle frenzy.

After the Ectros, the Rasail are the best-known unit in Sphere culture. It helps that their founder, Colonel Noovan, stars as the protagonist in hundreds of vids and shows and even books. Rasail are therefore the poster unit for a world the Tohaa want to live in; one of harmony, symbiotic advancement, and Tohaa technology.

They never walk alone, always accompanied by their bond-mate; a Chaksa Peripheral.

Profile: The Rasail Team is one of the most accomplished boarding units in the Tohaa Armada. They are embedded in the armed intercession groups of the Tohaa Naval Infantry equivalent, stationed on the Errant Ships and their auxiliary fleet. The corps was founded, in the midst of the Wars against the Fenrig Imperative, by Colonel Haal Noovan, a decidedly over-the-top character who would have made an excellent pirate captain had he been born in the prior millennium. Colonel Noovan led the boarding teams of the legendary ship Pride of Baalgar, which spearheaded the Tohaa counter-offensive against the Imperative forces in the Dinnea cluster.

The fenrig were fierce at the time, and had the upper hand in narrow corridors. That's when Noovan penned the Rasail doctrine; always outstrike, contain and harass with continuous attacks. Go fast, fight fast, and win fast before the fear can overtake you.

As heirs to a highly aggressive military philosophy, the Rasail fight in an intensely proactive manner. They dictate the terms of the assault, oblivious to the threat of enemy response fire. They bring the pressure by making direct, all-out contact with the enemy from the get-go, and keeping that momentum to fight with determination when needed. Under Colonel Noovan’s supervision, the Rasail have had their equipment adapted to their specific operational needs. They carry enhanced firepower and are outfitted with light armor plates capable of deploying extra nano-protection to securely close the gap with the enemy. Chaksa support Peripherals are standard issue for Rasail operatives, who often find themselves in clean-up situations where they must spread their forces to secure the combat zone one room at a time.'

Rasail are accomplished troopers. Essentially, they are the Tohaa Marines. They were founded by Noovan, who led the first units on the Pride of Baalgar which spearheaded the Tohaa counteroffensive against Fenrig Imperative forces in the Dinnear Cluster.

Equipment

  • Gnassos - These small lifeforms come from Sareota and were adopted, after many years of research, as a form of a living armour and protection for the Rasail. The Rasail, already wearing lightweight Voorne, like most other Tohaa regiments, did not need a second layer of armour. What the Gnassos provide, however, is obfuscation of the user’s silhouette. Moreover, in a pinch, the insects can form a kind of a shield around its user, sometimes even at the cost of their own life. The Rasail control the Gnassos swarms via pheromonic excretions.
