They call them the Snake Eaters. Echo-Bravo units have just one job as a part of the VIRD - get there fast, and get there first. Of course, there's a catch. Echo-Bravo units show up before there's any support, landing on the ground before any combat operations begin in earnest. They're at a numerical disadvantage most of the time, where the best defense is a good offense.

The only way to get to that level of gunfighting and violence means a specialized training regimen, usually on some abandoned algae processing plant out on the Lemurian Archipelago.

Their training often includes being dropped onto one those (very rickety!) platforms during a storm, with a group of more veteran training units waiting to jump them. If an Echo Bravo trainee can keep their wits about them during this worst-case scenario, then their solo operations will be no problem at all.
